Nar Phu Valley Trek

After breakfast we start a guided tour to several medieval and spiritual sites in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (BouddhaNath) which is one of the large Stupas in the world. Later after sightseeing program, we will introduce you with your trekking guide and have a small pre-trip meeting. You can also take an opportunity to hire/buy any last minute trekking equipment or bargain for your souvenirs at the many stores. After breakfast at your hotel we will depart at 8am; take a scenic drive to Beshisahar via the Prithivi Highway. From Beshisahar we drive to Syange by local jeep. After breakfast start the working through jungle after we left Chyamje from Chyamje the trail goes bank of Marshyangdi river mostly climbing before arrive in Tal from here, we enter Manang district trail continues through barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests past the village of Kodo taking us to Dharapani, which is one of the big villages in the Manang valley. A trek through a thick pine and rhododendron forest, following the Naar Khola River brings us to Meta. We will not see any lodges or teahouses until we get to Meta so we will bring a packed lunch with us from Koto. Overnight in local teahouse. , (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

We follow the Phu Khola, through an almost desert valley, enjoying stunning views of Kangaroo Mountain, Pokharkan and Amotsang Himal. It is a gradual incline today, not too difficult. The first migrants from Tibet settled in Phu Gaon nearly 200 years ago, we will stay here for the night in a very basic, local teahouse. , (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

We again take a packed lunch, as there will be no lodges or restaurants along the way today. We descend to Mahayandra Pool. The old King of Nepal once visited here and financed the bridge you will see crossing the River Naar Khola. We will see amazing panoramic views from here of Pisang Peak, Kangaroo, Pokharkan and Amodsang Himal as we relax for the day before some more strenuous trekking in the. A challenging day ahead, we need to leave Ngwal by 4 am to be able to conquer today’s difficult trek. A gradual incline for 2 hours before we will need to scramble up a steep, rocky track. You will not be disappointed when you reach the top and all your efforts will be worth it, you will be awestruck by a mountain paradise. 360 degree, panoramic views of these snow-capped, majestic mountains await you. A well deserved and welcomed easy trekking route today, through the pine forest and local Manang and Gurung villages. Manang is one of the main villages in the area and is the home to a very beautiful monastery. We stay the night in a local teahouse. The level of accommodation now improves and probably seems quite luxurious compared to the teahouses of the previous nights in the more remote regions. Continuing on from Manang, the trails ascends by nearly 500m to Yak Kharka. We make the climb steadily through Tenki Manang, leaving the Marsyangi Valley. Continuing along the Jarsang Khola Valley, we reach Yak Kharka at 4,000m. Herds of yaks and vegetations appear to thin out. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

After a two-hour ascent the trail descends to cross the river at 4,310m. We then climb up to Thorong Phedi at 4,450m where decent guesthouses have been built in the recent years. Overnight at guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Today is a long trek starting before sunrise at 4 am to reach the pass by 9-10am otherwise weather conditions (strong winds) will greatly affect the journey, particularly at the Thorung La Pass (5,416m). We climb steeply on a regular route which is quite easy to follow. However, some problems may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problems to cross the pass if it is covered by heavy snow. About four hours climb up to the pass marked by the chortens and prayer flags will reward you with stunning views from the top of the pass. Another four hours of walking will take you to the holy town of Muktinath.

Muktinath means place of Nirvana and is home to the Muktinath temple as well as several monasteries. It is said that all sorrows you feel are relieved when visiting the Temple, which is a scared pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The prime pilgrimage month is September. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has 108 waterspouts around it. Another attraction nearby is the Jwala Mai Temple which has a gorgeous natural spring and an eternal flame fueled by natural gas. Overnight at guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

We will move through trail of Kagbeni or Lupra to reach Jomsom. This day we will trek along Kali Gandaki river to reach Jomosm. Jomsom is a strong windy and a little cold valley but like the beautiful wet hills and the view of Tilicho mountain as well. Overnight at lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

A 30-minute morning flight takes us to Pokhara from Jomsom. Once we arrive at Pokhara airport, we then drive to the hotel. In the afternoon we will have a sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley, which covers Fewa Lake, Devi’s water fall, Museum, Tibetan refugee settlement and Gupteshower cave, etc. Overnight at a hotel.(Breakfast Included)

You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto Chitwan jungle safari, rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, scenic Everest flight, mountain biking and other activities. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. (Your guide(s) and an office staff will accompany you.) Today your Mini – Annapurna circuit trek trip comes to an end. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing.
